Pooh & Friends - Butterflies

Here is a photo of cuts from the Pooh and Friends cart. I cute each one "sleeping" from the cart. Then cut a cloud for each one and attached them. The stars and moon were also cut from the Pooh & Friends cart using DCWV silver glitter paper.

On the opposite wall I cute this using New Arrival for the "Baby" and Graphically Speaking for the "Girl". The butterflies are cut with the Cuttlebug Butterfly Cut and Emboss Set. I still need to cut more and add them because I want them to go over the window and down the other side of the wall.

Life Size Pooh Bear

Today we took a trip to a different Babies R Us and wow what a difference. We don't have one locally so we just looked up one that was pretty close which happened to be in Tacoma, WA. It was right off the freeway so it didn't take long to get there. It was a much nicer store and of course we found more things to buy!
One being this adorable Pooh Bear. Is he cute or what? I know Isadora is going to love him...once she is old enough to know what it is. LOL

Bonus: on the way there we passed a Michael's not far from the store so on the way back we stopped to have a look. Low and behold they had one Threading Water punch. I know the craze for this punch is way over and everyone had moved on the bigger and better things. Our local store "still" doesn't have it in stock.

Eee PC

Finally, a laptop for your purse!

I actually took these pictures a while ago and meant to post here but I have been so busy I forgot.

Anyway, how cool is this little pc? Let me tell you...amazingly cool! Yes really.

The ruler is 7 inches long just to show how small this things really is. Perfect for anything from a long trip when you don't want to have to carry a full size laptop to just hanging out at Starbucks.

The battery life is awesome and the best part....yes the best part is the using the bluetooth with the Blackberry for instant internet access anywhere and everywhere!

To sum it up...I love it!

Isadora's Name

I had been thinking about how I wanted to do these for a while and finally decided to give it a shot. I used the "fancy" font on the Storybook cartridge to cut the letters out of chipboard. Then covered them with paper from the Marth Stewart Playful Pink stack. The flowers are Primas and I also covered the back with white cardstock just make them a little thicker. I wanted to make sure they would hold up being hung on the wall. The first picture was a little closer up before we hung them on the wall. The second tqo one I am not so happy with but you can at least see them on the wall. You can click on the image to see them a closer up.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month

If you or someone you know is the victim of domestic violence please seek help! There is great website here with a wealth of information and a national hotline. Or just call 1-800-799-SAFE (7233)

I received flowers today.........
I received flowers today. It wasn't my birthday or a special
Occasion. We had our first argument last night. During
The night he said a lot of cruel things to me that really hurt.
I know that he is sorry, because he sent me flowers today.

I received flowers today. It wasn't my birthday or a special
Occasion. Last night he pushed me into the wall and started
Pounding me with his fists. It seemed like a nightmare, I
Couldn't believe that this was happening to me.

I woke up very sore and bruised this morning. I know that he must be sorry
Because he sent me flowers today.

I received flowers today. It wasn't mother's day or a special
Occasion. Last night I was beaten violently. Even more
Brutally than before. If I leave him, what would happen to me?
And the kids? Financially I couldn't make it and I don't even
Know how to budget? I am afraid of him, but I'm even more afraid
To leave. But I know that he regrets it, because he sent me
Flowers today.

I received flowers today.
It was my funeral. Yesterday during the night he finally
Managed to kill me. If only I found the courage to leave,
I wouldn't have gotten flowers today.
Now I am sitting on my cloud and it finally dawned on me, as I
Was watching my earthly family. I should have been more
Courageous and broken the chain of violence, because my son
Just hit his wife and sent HER flowers today.

I have seen a lot of things made with distress ink and recently saw a little video of some tags that were made. I have a long way to go to really perfecting this technique but I had fun trying! I made these tonight and my hubby was impressed so that is good enough for me! LOL

I used "dusty concord" and "peeled paint" for these and then stamped with coffee ink. I love love love the way they look although you can tell these were my first. So they aren't prefect. The stamps are both Inkadinkadoo. Click the image to see it better.

Can you tell the weather here is changing? I took this picture of Winnie tonight just as I was on my way to turn the heater on! We are freezing here! LOL

In all the world...

Ok so I have been talking about this with a few people but it still isn't on the wall. So I am posting a pic here. This is for Isadora's room and soon when you log into the Isadora cam you will be able to see this on the wall. The picture really doesn't do this justice. It is so pretty and the gold trim around the edge is raised. Very pretty!
I am also working on some other things for the walls but I am not ready to share those yet! LOL Still have a long way to go with those!

Recipe Box

I have become so addicted to recipe swaps on the Cricut board that I simply didn't know what to do with them. I had originally thought I would just use 8 x 8 albums as "cookbooks" and store them there. What a joke. I filled two and have about 100 pages left. Yeah at least a hundred.

So I was wondering what other way I could store them that would allow me to use them and store them without needing a bookcase in the kitchen. I had an idea tonight and started working on it. I wasn't sure exactly how it was going to come out but I must say I am pretty happy with it. It didn't take very long really. Here are some pictures which aren't that great because I am sleepy and want to go to bed! lol But you can get the basic idea. It really is much cuter than it looks in these pictures. I used the Storybook font for the words, some K&CO Ladybugs and kitchen stamps, which I love.

So today (like most days) I was just browsing the Cricut Board and I happen to come across a baby mesh/title cute file swap! How excited was I?? Very! It is actually being hosted by one of the ladies my Birthday Swap group form the board. This is awesome since we have a little one on the way. Anyway...of course I joined and here is my first cut file! I think it came out pretty cute. You can download the cut file in you are intrested in it. I used WIMG and Alphalicious.

The simple life

Dan has duty tonight and I am spending my evening in front of the computer. No surprise there. I am half watching TV and hear this loud snoring sound coming from the desk chair next to me. That would be Dan's chair currently occupied by "Monk" just as it is most of the time when Dan isn't at home. I could not help myself. I quietly snapped a few pics of this boy!

A catchy little video about a serious issue

I got this email today and so I thought I would share it. I don't live in CA so I can't vote for this but maybe someone who does and can will see it! I am on the Humane Society mailing list and I am sure it was a mass mailing. I do hope to see more states with props such as this one.

Dear Pamela --

Hear straight from the, ahem, pig's mouth about how you can help California's 20 million farm animals. It's a funny video with a serious message.

Christmas Cookie Swap

Okay so I did say I wasn't going to sign up for anymore swaps until after Isadora gets here...however my friend Angela was hosting this one and it was her first swap as a host so I had to do it. It wasn't due until Nov. but with everything I have going on I thought I had better go ahead and finish it. So here it is:

Breakfast Swap

Just finished this swap today and have to mail it out tomorrow. I was pretty please that I actually finished this in one day. I know it doesn't look like much work but I tend to do things over and over again. So for me one day is good.
A friend came over today and we played all day! It was great. Dan had duty...he first duty day at the new Command... so we had the whole day. Well that is until her husband called to ask if she was going to come home and feed him and the kids. It is easy to forget the time when you are having such a good time. Anyway here it is...it looks better in person. The eggs were cut from George using the DCWV white glitter paper.

What's wrong with this picture?

Ok so last night Dan and I decided to go to Barnes and Noble to wander around for a while. We were sitting in Starbucks and I spot this book across the way. Turns out there is a pretty cool website if you happen to be a dog lover. Anyway, I grab the book and start flipping through it. I swear some of the pictures in this book brought tears to my eyes. Turns out we see the cutest pic of a beagle. With a pretty funny note!

The more I look at this pic the more I am convinced it is Amos our "baby dog" Beagle! This was so funny to us because he also has the "poo" problem. I guess Beagles are famous for this. Now Amos has NEVER worn a blue collar but you judge.

The real Amos:

Also, for the cat lovers out there check out the Catfessions site.

World Card Making Day...

began in 2006 as National Card Making Day. Founded by Paper Crafts magazine in an effort to bring card makers together at the busiest card-making season of the year, it was first held on October 7, 2006. The initial celebration involved the Paper Crafts magazine audience only; however, due to the positive response it received and the worldwide popularity of card making, Paper Crafts recognized the need to expand, and the holiday transformed into World Card Making Day.Now in its second year, World Card Making Day has been expanded to include a dedicated web site; a wider, more inclusive level of sponsorship; and a marketing campaign designed to get the word out at the grassroots level. These steps were taken in hopes of uniting the card-making community (hobbyists, retailers, manufacturers, and more) and celebrating the connection and creativity that is at the heart of card making.

Visit the site to learn more.

It has been a while

It has taken some time but I finally have everything in order with my blog and can get back to posting! I'll start by posting this layout that I just recently finished for a swap. This took some time but lucky for me I had friend here from out of town and she helped with it. Everything was cut with the Cricut so that part was pretty easy. This is a Circus page but the swap theme was "Family Fun Time" so there were some great layout in this swap!

Local Wildlife

Here is video Dan shot off the back deck today. It seems more than just birds like the feeders. We filled these up a while ago and the little birds just love them! However, this guy seems to be have a pretty good time too!

Crock Pot Swap

Yet another recipe swap! I am sort of addicted to these I think. This one I signed up for all 5 groups and was actually late mailing them in! I need to cut back on all the swaps I sign for up.
I can't wait to get these back! I am a one dish wonder so this is right up my alley!

First Daddy Duty

Here is a Dan fast at work with his first Daddy Duty. He is working in the room that will be the nursery....doesn't look much like it right now but it will soon. I am very happy with the finished product. He did a great job! Can't wait to see how he does with the crib!

He had this Winnie the Pooh Bassinet put together in no time!

And here is the finished product!

Mixed Drink Swap

This was a great idea for a summer swap. It was a "mixed drink" swap on the Cricut Board. These will be great to get back. I can't wait to try them all! LOL
I love the top one Bourbon Tea Time but wasn't all that happy with the the other one. In theory if was great but when it was done it just seemed like it was still missing something. I ran out of time and had to get it in the mail but I wish I had more time to figure out what it needs!

Atrichoke Chicken and Rodeo Chili

I just finished this "Main Dish" swap. They were fun but the artichoke was a little more than I planned on it being. I actually had to put these together by hand and then I used a 3D paint to give them some texture. This was so much work! I think they came out OK but I am not sure I'll take that one on again! LOL

Since I make candles and love paper crafts I thought it would cool to merge to two. These were really easy to make and I love the way they came out. I even used the cuttlebug to emboss the paper on some of them.

Gift Can

A friend of mine asked if I wanted to donate something for her daughters Dance fundraiser. Of course I said sure! So this is it. This was a really fun project and very easy to do. Inside there are candles, hand-made soap and bath bombs. The fundraiser if right before Mothers Day so I went with that theme.

Purse Cards

How cute are there? I made little mini Cd's with all the homecoming pictures for the families in our Command. I wanted something cute to put them in for the ladies so I made these. They also fit a gift card perfectly! I cut the purse and flowers with the Cricut. The buttons are little brads.

Campfire Potaotes and Banana Nut Bread

This is one of the recipe swaps I just completed. This one was a lot of fun! I can't wait to get these swaps back.

Cats Wordbook

This is my first word book and I am very pleased with it. I made this as a gift for one of ladies in my b-day swap group on the Cricut Board. I cut the letters out of chipboard and then cut the paper to cover it from the same file. I can see what these are so popular!
