Can you say HOT?

I have no idea how these guys can cuddle up in the sun when it is so hot!


We have been having such hot weather, that it is hard to believe just a week ago I was complaining about the cold. YES welcome to the wonderful Pacific Northwest. This evening around 6:30 it was actually 90 in our house! Here's Isadora's new trick for keeping cool! Otter Pops! And no the Beagle in the background isn't dead yet but he certainly wasn't one to be lounging in sun!

Clipboard Art

I have seen some really cool altered clipboards and even have a couple really pretty ones that I have received in swaps. So I decided to give it a shot. lol This the is first one I have ever done, and there are a couple things I will different next time but for the most part I love it. The paper if from an old DCWV stack but seemed perfect for this board. It is so bright and cheery it lights up the room.

Creative Metal by Walnut Hollow

I was looking around J's the other day (I hardly go there anymore) and while in the paint section this caught my eye. Now maybe I am the last person on the planet to find this but I was so excited. They come in about 10 colors and they are 4 x 4 sheets, 40 gauge sheets of metal with 8 to a pack for 4.00! How cool is that? They also sell several 4x4 plastic plates in the same section that you can use to emboss them. But of course the cuttlebug is much easier than hand embossing.
So I was excited to come home and try it out. This is the first one I ran through the cuttlebug. They are awesome! They are much heavier than foil paper but went through the cuttlebug like a dream and here is what it looked like. It was hard to take good pictures because it is so shiny.

I had this little 4 x 4 wood box and thought it would be cool to emboss one and then cover the top of the box with it. I painted the box first, then I use the Leafy Branch embossing folder. It looked good but then I took brights alcohol inks (Thank you Tiara) and mixed the three colors and swiped over the metal. It is sort of hard to tell in the picture but it looks really cool.

Dream, Create, Inspire

This is a project that I have wanted to try for a long time. Each canvas is 6x6 and I bought these a long time ago, then stuck them away and forgot about them. Well I found them this past weekend and remembered why I bought them.

I painted each one brown and then cut the paper, sponged the edges of the paper with corduroy distress ink, and attached it to the canvas with Mod Podge. I use the Mod Podge on top of the paper also to give an oil painting look. The paper is Crate Paper from the Brook Collection. I cut the Dream, Create and Inspire from the flip side of each patterned paper. I use Broken China, Peeled Paint and Antique Linen Distress stickles on the words. Attached green, blue and yellow skittles.

Cricut Card Fairy Blog Hop

The CCF are a great group of crafters from all around the world that send cards to those in need of a smile. We send for special events, as pick me ups, sympathy and just because. I cut the card base from Close To My Heart cardstock, the blue and green patterned paper is Kelly Panacci called Giggle Stripes and the blue patterned paper is Making Memories. The first stamp "just a little note" is studio G, the "with thoughts of you" and "feel better soon" is Inkadinkado and the grassy stamp at the bottom is CTMH Intrinsic Backgrounds which you can find here.

Wood Castle Album

I had never seen these before until my last trip to the local scrapbook store. They have these in lots of different themes, like sand castle, race car, house, and others that I can't seem to remember right now. Since I discovered these I have sent them to two other people because I think they are so neat. They are made out of wood and you can paint them or cover them with paper. My LSS also sells colored book rings that you can buy to match your colors. I already had some book rings so I didn't buy any for this one. I decided to paint this time but I think the next one I do I am going to cover. I just used random photos of Isadora all from this year. The most recent being 4th of July.

Isadora's First Year Mini Album

This was a really quick and easy albun to do. I wanted to make one for my Mom but I am so behind I didn't have a ton of time to make it. So I just cut the month titles with the cricut and stamped pretty much everything else (with Isadora's help) as you will see! She was on my lap for most of this so aside from a few stamp mistakes (that we tried to cover up) and one coffee spill, it came out really cute. In fact Dan saw it and wanted to keep it. XD

The album is 6x6 and again I didn't make the album. I know I am such a cheater! It came pre-made with blank pages inside.

I have been busy! Ok so this is the first thing I worked on to get going. I didn't make the album it was sent to me in a swap. So all I had to do was pick out and add pictures. I think it is just adorable and I found the perfect pictures to add to it!
