Note cards, Cigar Box & Painters Tray

We are all moved and settled in and so I decided to do another of the SS swaps on the MB. This was round 7 and I missed the two previous I think but was in the three prior to the two I missed. I could be off with the round but I have done three total I think and loved each one. Ok...the note cards, this round was very interesting because the weeks were song or movie titles and you had to make/buy something for the title pre-selected by the hostess. It was fun but it also hard! lol For You've Got Mail I did these this note card set. For Overboard I did a vintage altered cigar box and for Mission Impossible I did the painters tray. There was a total of 6 weeks but some of the other things I have already posted in other posts and don't want to repeat them.

Swap Books

I found these cute little books months ago when we first moved here and I bought like 6 of them in all different colors. I will admit it I have a notebook addiction! You should see the ones I have, and I keep adding more. Well these seemed just the right size to use to keep track of swaps. So I thought I could just pretty them up a bit and end up with a really cute little book to keep addresses, info and due dates for swaps. They were super easy and super cute!

Altered Clipboards

I love altering these little clipboards! They are perfect size for post notes, small desk calendar and labels. Here are three that I recently made.

For this one I used paper from Colorbok, the Sun kissed stack and I made this clip board to match this box. The stamps are Tim Holtz and the flowers are Prima.

This I think is my favorite and I love these colors and the paper. I used K&Company from the Wild Saffron stack. I thought the calendar on the one above looked a little plain so on this one I added a mat for it and like it much better. With this one I sent matching stick pins, which I forgot to take a photo of.

This one is very bright. I didn't plan it that way but it sort of took on a life of its own. I started with another of my favorites, butterfly paper by K&Company from the Urban Rhapsody stack. LOVE THIS STACK! I also altered this little tin to send with it. You can see some other tins that I altered here.

Mini Album - Fancy Pants

Here is a little mini album I made for a swap. I love LOVE this paper. It Facny Pants and from The Daily Grind 6 x 6 stack. It worked perfect since the album is 6x6. My pictures didn't come out great for this one but you will get the idea. I made this for someone else and I wasn't sure exactly what they might want to use it for so I left the theme a little general.

I have to say that I actually miss books. I real all the time, and since I got the Nook I think I read even more than I did before. It is so easy to take and use on the go or at home. But I really do miss books. I love using the space all those books use take up but still I miss the books.

Anyway, I made these three bookmarks for someone and I hope she will be able to put them to good use. Like me she loves to read, all sorts of books. I know some people are able to read more than one book at a time and while I so do not share that talent I do think it would be cool to have it.

I used paper by Jeanine Baechfold. It came out of the huge selection I got a couple years ago at Costco, I love this paper and use it all the time. It is nice and heavy so it was perfect for covering the chip board to make these bookmarks.

Texas Hold Em Bank

I recently did a swap with someone who had seen another bank I made, you can see that one here. She request something like the scrap fund bank but with a Texas Hold Em theme. This was pretty hard for me because I don't really know much about poker. I did a little research online and here is what I came up with.

I painted the lid with black and red acrylic paint and then sanded it a little to give it a sort of distressed look. I made the little card and chip embellishments and added a few real coins, buttons and ribbon.

I used Coordinations card stock on the can and a 1 set of stamps to make the white border at the top and bottom. I just stamped those and then painted the letter the same way I did the lid. Over all I think it came out good and she loved it.

Altered T

I have recently been seeing lots of altered letters on blogs and around the Internet. I am not sure if this is something new (I doubt it)or I just never noticed before (most likely). Anyway, I decided to give it a shot and this is what I came up with. I know I have done at least one of these in the past for a partner on the cricut board. Anyway, I really liked the way this one came out. I hope the person I am giving it to will also!

I just colored it with a light blue and cream acrylic paint. The stamps are from a Tim Holtz set (ironically the person I am sending this to sent me the stamp set in a previous swap), a white rose and pearls. Then tied the tiny key around it.

Altered Notebook

Here is notebook I made from someone a few weeks ago. I received some really cool svg cut files of dress forms and decided to use one on this notebook. The picture isn't great but the notebook is a suede type material and it made me think of clothing for some reason. The bling is Prima, the little calendar is from Maya Road and the filmstrip and metal at TH. I used Liquid Pearls (love this stuff) to make the necklace and then added a tiny heart charm to it with a tiny pink brad. It was pretty simply and a quick project.

TH Tag

I love how this tag came out! I was able to make this tag because someone on the CB was kind enough to send me some of these already cut. I don't have this die, but after playing and making this tag I want it so bad! I just used distress inks, and all the stamp are from TH sets. I made some of the stick pins and some were sent to me, but matched this tag. I made a little pocket for the tag to stick the pins down in to hold them in place. I mailed this tag to the person who sent me the tags as a thank you.

Altered Paint Can

I have to say I had the most amazing time creating this. I have had these clear paint cans around for ever and honestly I prefer working with metal cans from home improvement stores but couldn't let this go to waste! It is pretty hard to tell in the picture because it was so bright and I could not get the lighting right but the black part of the paper is raised flock. It is from the me & my Big ideas black and white butterfly specialty stack which you can see here. I love this stack and this is the first time I have used it. I look at it all the time but it is so nice I didn't want to cut it up! lol Isn't that silly? On the top of I used the script cuttlebug embossing folder and then inked it with Frost White Colorbox ink. The stick pins are some of the first ones I made and since I only had white pins I colored the tops with a red copic. The black and white flower I made from the same paper that I used on the can. I love these flowers and have been putting them on everything! I thought this pendent that I have also had around for a while went perfect on this can! I attached it under the black ribbon with an eyelet so it would sit right on the can.
