Craft Us Crazy Challenge #30

The theme for this challenge is use your FAVORITE COLOR and/or HOLIDAY THEME!  With the holidays getting closer and closer I have started working on Christmas items. I have so many projects planned this year I was excited that this challenge would really get the ball rolling for me!

Please visit the CRAFT US CRAZY blog to enter this challenge.  You will also find all the amazing creations form the DT there!  Below are the amazing sponsors we have for this challenge.

Sponsor - Saturated Canary
Prize details – Two digital images of winners choice

Sponsor – Outlaw Women Scrapbook Emporium
                             Store link
Prize details -- $10.00 Gift Certificate

Ok now for my creation! This was actually a very simple project or so I thought.  Once I started working on it there were just so many options it became over complicated for me.  I wanted to make a Christmas/Winter banner but not the traditional mantel banner.  So here is what I came up with it. I hope you like it.

I used the Cricut to cut the shapes and used the Bo Bunny Blitzen paper for this project.  The rosettes are all from the Tim Holtz die and the beautiful angel in the center is from Saturated Canary!

Craft Us Crazy Challenge #29

Prize details – Party This Way Bundle
Stampin’ Up Party This Way Clear Stamp Set – Retired
Stampin’ Up Petite Pennants Builder Punch Retail 16.95

I can't believe my baby is turning FOUR years old in a couple weeks! Where does the time go?  We are in full party prep mode around here and this week I have been working on favors.  The theme of her birthday party for this year is ICE CREAM! Yes, I know...what 4 year old doesn't love ice cream.  So I search the internet for ice cream party favors and you would be surprised how many amazing ideas there are.  I settled on these adorable little ice cream cups with matching spoons.  I also found some cute ice cream shaped candy to go inside them.

Originally I thought it would be cute to personalize each one with name of the child that would receive it. But that proved to be a challenge for more than one reason.  So instead I wrapped them up in fun polkadot paper and made a tag with Isadora's name on it for each one.

When all was said and done here is what we have! A cute fun party favor that I think the kids are going to love.  Now let's PARTY!

Be sure to check out the other great creation from other design team members and to play along on the  Craft us Crazy Challenge Blog!

Skeletons and Bookmarks!

I think most kids love Halloween as much as mine, she is about to turn 4 and is more into it this year than ever. She even decided on her own costume this year! Wait for it....HULK yes Hulk.  After some scrambling and some help from the other side of the country, HULK is in the house!
Anyway, we have done some fun projects this year! Salt clay was one we tried for the first time. We used Fall and Halloween cookie cutters, baked and painted them.  She has seen me work on some things for other people and of course wanted to get in on the fun.  One thing we made together were these cute skeletons! Someone sent me these in a swap last year and I was so excited to try making them this year!  Super easy, we just cut a bunch of them with the cricut and then basically remove the center part and added the donuts! Cute right?

Here is what they look like before you cut them in half!
Here is the finished product! You can just tape or staple the donut package to the top and bottom of the cut. Fold at the joints and these little guys even sit up!
I have one more Halloween things to share and I actually made these for a swap because they were requested but my daughter love them and so we made a couple for her too! Halloween bookmarks, sure to be a hit with the kids. She loves anything she gets to help make.
Sadly, this is going to conclude my Halloween creations for this year, I really need to get into gear for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Not to mention my baby is turning 4 in a couple weeks!

The Witch Is In

Yes, I am still in Halloween mode, and this indeed is one of my favorite projects. I made this for a friend and it was long overdue. Better late than never right?

The first thing is another shadow box! I love the colors in the white shadow box even though white isn't a traditional halloween color. And what is a witch without her hat?  The third item in the set is a wicked banner.

I am most impressed with this hat. A friend showed me one of these that she bought to alter (and it is beautiful, she made it for Isadora) at Michael's.  I went to check out our store and they didn't have any or they were already sold out.  So I decided to make it from scratch! I did find a little template online for the cone and rim so I used that and cut it by hand with heavy chipboard.  Then I used orange glitter paper and Graphic 45 Happing Haunting, some white pearls and mod podge.

Craft Us Crazy Challenge #28

Are you ready for another challenge?  Head over to the Craft Us Crazy Challenge Blog and check out this weeks Challenge!  We are finally having some cooler weather here in Southern Cali so I was very excited for the Children and/or Fall theme for this challenge! It actually feels a little like Fall here.

The sponsor for this challenge is Stamp Fairy and I was so excited to receive this very adorable Fall image to work with for this challenge!  Thank you!

Here is the easel card I made, and the paper is so pretty and the image is so cute, I just didn't want to overdue the card. So I tried to keep it simple. I tend to over do things and they end up looking very busy!

I have really, really wanted to make another painter's tray for a long time now.  I made a spring themed one a long time ago as a gift and it was a huge hit.  So I did the same thing but with a Fall Theme. This is also a gift so I wanted to make a cute card to go along with it.  This was so much fun to work on and I actually used a kit for some of the background and then cut and used my own embellishments. Let me know what you think?

Thanks for looking and don't forget to visit Craft Us Crazy

Craft Us Crazy is back after a short break with a new series of challenges! I am so excited to be a part of their Design Team along with some other very talented crafters! The challenge this week is Halloween or anything goes!  I am so excited about this challenge because Halloween is one my favorite holidays! What better way to kick off the Fall season than with a Halloween themed project!

The best part is that The Cutting Café is sponsoring this challenge! If you have not visited this store you are missing out. They have a wide range of printable stamps and cut-able files for those with cutting machines. But the good news is you also receive a PDF so you can cut them by hand. The lucky winner of this challenge will receive THREE Sets from The Cutting Café!

What an amazing prize!

Please visit the Craft Us Crazy Challenge blog and play along, check out the amazing design team blogs to see some beautiful projects and don’t forget to look at The Cutting Café, where you are sure to be inspired!

Now for a look at my project!

I had such a wonderful time working on this.  I have seen these countdown calendars made in just about any theme you can think of and this was really easy to make! I just painted the cookie sheet black and then used a few coats of acrylic sealer to give it a little shine. Covered it with some Halloween paper and Mod Podge.  I used Designer Calendar and the Cricut to cut the calendar and words. I also used Ribbons and Rosettes for the spider border.  All the little embellishments came from different Halloween embellishment packs. How cute would it be to make your own?  Then I just cut small squares of black card stock and stuck on magnets that are sticky on one side. Then glued the little embellishments to the other side of the black card stock.   Super easy and super fun if you have little one or if your are like me and can't wait for Halloween to arrive!

I am actually giving this to someone for a gift and wanted to make a matching card.  I used the Halloween Trio Set from The Cutting Cafe to make this cute card! You can find this halloween set here. Thanks for looking and I hope to see your crafty creation over on the challenge blog soon!

Halloween Wreath

Have I mentioned how much I love all things Halloween?  Well, I do! And this project is no exception!
I used the tutorial here to make these. After a practice one and the two of these, I have gotten pretty good at them. If you decide to make one of these I would highly recommend you practice the folding part a little before you use the actual paper you want to make the wreath with. The tutorial includes a great video.  Actually, it is really simple to make once you get the hang of that and you can use this for any theme or holiday.  I can't wait to make one for Christmas but maybe I will make a Fall or Thanksgiving themed one before that?

Anyway, for the first one I used the Graphic 45 Happy Haunting Stack.  I can't even describe how much I love this paper!  Who am I kidding though?  I love all of their paper.

For the second one I used another Halloween set that I love from Close To My Heart. You can find this one in the current Autumn/Winter 2012 Idea Book and it is called Moonlight Path. On the center I used orange and black twine around the edge, the cuts are from Chic & Scary (my favorite cartridge right now) and the flower is a Tim Holtz die.

Halloween Haunted Frame

I totally love this!  This frame came from the thrift store, along with some other great finds that I can't wait to alter.  The best part, it was free!  We had a brand new thrift store open up right by Dan's office and they gave him 20.00 in gift certificates. Which he didn't want and of course game to me.  Anyway, I got several things to alter and this is one of those thing.  The whole thing is wood so I just took it apart and painted the frame black and the back orange and used some glimmer mist on it.  Then I used the Chic & Scary cartridge (which I love by the way) to cut out this cool haunted, the web and the spider. When I was all done I sprayed the whole thing with several coats of clear glossy acrylic sealer to give it that nice smooth finish.

Halloween Themed Shadow Box

We love Halloween!  Our whole family loves it! We like the cute, the scary, the gory, we love it all.  I have so many things I want to make this Halloween I didn't know where to start.  I am doing a couple swaps, I owe a dear friend some Halloween themed goodies and there are several things I want to make for my own family.  So expect to see a whole bunch of Halloween over the next few weeks.  I am going to post things as I make them so everyone will see what I am making but they won't know what they are getting until it shows up at their door!  This is going to be fun!

So for my first project I made this spooky shadow box and color coordinated frame.  The crow is from this site --------> Blooming Homestead and if you are looking for some cute subway art or other Halloween printable items please check out the site.  I just loved this crow but I wasn't sure what to do with it! I think it complements the shadow box well and looks nice displayed as a pair.  For the box I use the Cricut to cut the frame, the spooky and the 31 from the Happy Haunting cartridge.  The dress form is from a swap I was in on the Cricut MB and was created by Jana Z.  And the creepy face was from a free clipart and printable site. (Thanks Kelley)  I really like this little duo!
